Musings on McCain: Independent, New Media, and Blogosphere on McCain’s Campaign….Iraq, Peggy Noonan, George Will, the NY Times, and One Blogger Already Vetting VPs
Here’s the best roundup out there:
Let’s start with Blogs4McCain - always a good place to start. On Monday, it had a comment and link to McCain’s economic-policy speech:
“In a major policy address on economic issues, Senator McCain stressed the ideals that have made him one of the premier champions against government waste. Vowing to veto entire bills that contain pork, he won’t wait for the line-item veto.”
It also located a Newsweek column, by conservative columnist George F. Will on McCain. In a post titled “Doom & Gloom, George Will on McCain”, Blogs4McCain states that:
“The long and the short of it is this: Will concludes that Iraq will probably be the downfall of McCain. His evidence? Well, it’s philosophical you see, but it basically has to do with his assertion that America is now firmly antiwar — and thus will reject a pro-victory McCain.”

Steve Nizer’s McCain 2008 blog had the link to a race42008.com article on how McCain’s Iraq speech went over. It also has a post titled “Veepstakes”, which - rather optimistically - asks for bloggers’ votes on the question as to whom Senator McCain should offer the second spot on the ticket.
Finally, he cites a NY Times article on McCain and the War in Iraq; Nizer titles his link as “McCain Is Not Backing Down”. All of the below can be found at:
Moderates for McCain found a Wall Street Journal article by columnist Peggy Noonan, and comments in a post titled “McCain Unafraid to Own His Own Ideas”:
Republicans Are Blue offers his take on McCain’s improved poll numbers, in a piece titled “McCain on the Rebound”:http://republicansareblue.blogspot.com/2007/04/mccain-on-rebound.html
