Poll in Alabama (Feb. 5 primary) Shows McCain, Giuliani in Dead Heat
A poll conducted by the University of South Alabama, from April 22 to 25, of 402 individuals planning to vote in the early February 5 Republican primary, showed Senator McCain and Rudy Giuliani in a dead heat.
McCain had 23%, with Giuliani taking 22%: a statistical tie, with the poll having a margin-of-error (MOE) of +/- 5%. But both were well ahead of other Republicans. Mitt Romney had just 12%. Fred Thompson and Newt Gingrich, neither of whom have announced their candidacy, received 10% and 7% respectively.
