Latest ARG Poll Shows McCain w/ 5% lead over Romney in NH, Hence Remains in Dead Heat Atop GOP Field
Senator McCain has maintained his status as one of the two front-runners in New Hampshire: he currently leads former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney, 29% to 24% - a statistical tie. This news was called to Campaignia’s attention by Race42008.com.
In the same ARG poll conducted in March 2007, McCain led Romney 23%-17%, but that lead - like the current one - was too narrow to be statistically significant. According to ARG’s Ballot Lead Calculator, McCain’s current 29%-24% advantage over Romney remains merely a dead heat.
The American Research Group’s poll was conducted from 4.26.2007 to 4.29.2007, among 600 likely Republican primary voters in NH, and had a margin of error (MOE) of +/- 4%. The full results:
McCain (29%)
Romney (24%)
Giuliani (17%)
undecided (14%)
undeclared Fred Thompson (7%),
undeclared Newt Gingrich (4%)
the rest scattered.
