Text of McCain’s fundraising e-mail from today, 7/31; The Tower’s news analysis of its text in an upcoming post

Here is the text of the latest fundraising e-mail from Senator McCain’s campaign, which The Tower’s publisher received at 2:53 PM, Tuesday, July 31.  In a subsequent post, The Tower will publish a news analysis of the e-mail’s text and messages.

One prior note - this e-mail is sent out under the Senator’s signature, which is not always done.  Some previous e-mails have come from campaign officials, such as former campaign manager Terry Nelson.  Here’s the complete text, as received:

Dear (first name of recipient),

I wanted to send you a quick email with a little straight talk about this campaign. In the last week, I’ve been to Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. We’re seeing stories in the media about the enthusiastic crowds and energy we’re establishing on the ground. I’m glad that the media is picking up on what I’ve been saying all along - my lifetime of experiences, straight talk and my vision for the future of our nation is resonating. What I’ve seen in these early primary and caucus states is that we can win! It’s very simple - I’m going to meet as many voters as I can and give them straight talk about why I’m the only candidate prepared to be
commander-in-chief from day one. The recent squabbles between the Democratic candidates are just another example of why many people are fed up with petty political bickering and why I believe the voters of this country are ready for a leader who will bring this country together and is ready to lead from day one.
But in order to continue meeting voters, I’m going to need your help. Please chip in today. Whether a lot or a little, every dollar you can give means one more voter I can reach and talk to about my vision for our nation. This campaign is going to be won on the ground - vote by vote - and I’m convinced that if every voter learns of my unparalleled experience, we will win. I’m on the road trying to meet as many voters as I can, but I can’t go it alone. That’s where you come in.

As you may know, asking for money is one of the hardest things a political candidate has to do - but also one of the most important. Simply put, it’s friends like you that allow me to hold the town hall meetings, shake the voters’ hands and continue to give voters straight talk about our nation’s future. Please take a moment today to invest in our campaign of honest reform, straight talk, and an even stronger America.

Word is getting out. Voters are sick of petty politics, ready for some straight talk and looking for leadership to restore faith and trust in our government. This is a campaign for the future of our nation, and I’m honored you’re standing with me to win.

Thanks for your support,

John McCain

P.S. I’m having a great time campaigning around the country and appreciate the increasing amount of support I see everywhere I go. This is a seminal election that will decide the direction our country will head in the next decade. Please stay in touch with our campaign through my website. We’re still a long way from a ballot being cast in this election, and with your help, we’re going to get out and convince every voter that I have the experience and vision to lead this nation to an even brighter future.
