What Others Are Saying On McCain: Lieberman Endorsement, Endorsement Mania, Etc.
By Election Night HQ’s Publisher
Here’s a look around, at what other bloggers are saying about Senator McCain and his campaign:
This comes from Michael Schuyler at Reality Bytes:
While the rest of McCain land celebrates the new endorsements from the Boston Globe and Des Moines Register I’d like to talk about the apparent popularity of Huckabee, Thompson, and even Ron Paul. Paul may not be polling well, but you must admit his supporters are strident. The question is: Why? Can this be real?…
From Ned C. at the Partisan American:
It’s a good day for McCainiacs. After a weekend full of endorsements, and a week where the GOP race dramatically shifted into a new reality… where John McCain is reported as the most appealing and most electable in the general election.
The shifting of climate in the GOP race has landed us here, on a day where Sen. McCain recieves the endorsement of friend and colleague Sen. Joseph Lieberman, an Independent former Democratic V.P. candidate. Lieberman adds to McCain’s campaign in several ways; first of which is his contribution to the endorsement frenzy of the last week and a half, second in highlighting McCain’s non-partisan appeal. When compounded with recent poll analysis that shows McCain as the most electable GOP candidate in a general election, Lieberman’s endorsement gives strong weight to the McCain campaigns insistance that McCain, not Giuliani is the most electable against any Democrat…
At Blogs4McCain, Seattle describes Endorsement Mania:
Senator McCain is racking up a trove of endorsements this weekend. Earlier this month it all began when Senator McCain picked up the 800 pound elephant in New Hampshire: the Union Leader. That kicked off a “buzz” on the campaign trail.
As we blogged about yesterday, the Des Moines Register and the Boston Globe both endorsed John McCain. That story snowballed, boosted by McCain also getting the nod yesterday from 100 Admirals and Generals. Tomorrow, it has been confirmed that Joe Lieberman will make an announcement in the race (billed by several outlets as an endorsement). The buzz that began with the Union Leader endorsement is now building into full out mania. McCain is gathering momentum faster than at any other leg of the campaign — and it comes at a crucial time — less than three weeks before the IA, NH, and SC primaries.
Sorting through my RSS reader this afternoon, I came across two more noteworthy editorials. The first is from the Portsmouth Herald, announcing and explaining their endorsement of Senator McCain. The second is yet another fantastic editorial from the New Hampshire Union Leader, spelling out the case for why McCain is the only candidate to lead America forward, “Commander in Chief: McCain is the best choice.”…
At MyMcCainBlog, Ethan provides us with the YouTube video of Lieberman endorsing McCain, and also floats the possibiliy of a McCain/Lieberman ticket:
How about a McCain Lieberman ticket?
Yeah I’m just saying what we all were thinking ![]()
